Morocco's entry into international cricket has been a stop-start affair since becoming an Affiliate Member of the ICC in 1999.
Their first tournament participation came in 2006 when it finished in fifth place - out of the eight - in the Pepsi ICC Africa World Cricket League Division 3.
Since then, it has withdrawn from the 2008 and 2009 events - the latter after the players' visas were not accepted for the Malawi competition - so have missed out on furthering its development.
Its facilities were deemed suitable to host a three-team tournament involving three major Test playing nations in 2002 - Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka - in Tangier.
The country has not held another competition since, however, and will be eager to see its national side return to tournament play soon.
