Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Former India cricketer and member of ICC Cricket World Cup 1983 winning team, Madan Lal thinks the present team is the "best" ever to represent the country and said it has the potential to win the biggest title for the second time when the event takes place in the sub-continent next year.

"The present squad have the best chance to win ICC Cricket World Cup 2011," said Madan Lal, who was in Lucknow to attend a function to showcase the Reliance Mobile Trophy preview for the ICC Cricket World Cup, told PTI.

"Though the performance on the field is what really matters, this team is looking good in all departments of the game, be it batting, bowling or fielding and if they maintain the rhythm and momentum, India would definitely clinch the cup once again," he added.

Replying to another question, the former cricketer said he did not expect major changes in the squad, which would be picked up for the next ICC Cricket World Cup.

"There are some seven-eight players who can singlehandedly change the scenario of a game," he said.

Asked about batting icon Sachin Tendulkar, he said, "He is in top form at the moment and people's expectations from him will be also high during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011," he added.
