Canada XI begin India tour for CWC preparations
Ashish Bagai will lead the squad in its preparations for CWC 2011
Ashish Bagai will lead Canada's hopes in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
Two of Canada's matches will be played in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 venues, the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium (Nagpur) as well as at Bombay Gymkhana, the venue of India's first-ever home Test match. All eight of Canada's tour matches will be played against top domestic opposition in some of India's top cricket venues.
The majority of the squad left for Delhi and will be joined shortly by the rest of the players on the tour. John Davison (work) and Geoff Barnett (work) will join for the final matches of the tour while Henry Osinde (school) will join midway Rizwan Cheema, Khuram Chohan and Hamza Tariq will remain in Toronto to train until their visas are granted for travel to India. Umar Bhatti (injury) will remain in Toronto for treatment to his lower leg.
