Up to 4,000 volunteers will be required for the tournament in the 14 host cities, with 49 matches played over 44 days.
Chief Executive of the Local Organising Committee for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, John Harnden, said that volunteers played a vital role in putting on a successful tournament.
“This is a great opportunity to show off the rich diversity of our communities, the tourist attractions of the two host counties and some of the best cricket venues on the planet.
“All of this will require an enormous team effort. We want volunteers to get the most out of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 experience, and hopefully use it as a springboard for new opportunities – whether it’s volunteering in their local area or opening the door to a career,” said Mr Harnden.
There are a variety of volunteer roles available, each requiring different skills and experience, and those interested should visit www.cricketworldcup.com/volunteers for further information. Volunteers must be 18 years or older to apply in Australia and 17 or older in New Zealand. Successful candidates applying for volunteer positions will be interviewed in May 2014.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will run from 14 February to 29 March 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for the tournament are on sale now. For further information on becoming a volunteer or to purchase tickets, visit www.cricketworldcup.com.
