Akbar Baig has been selected as the new skipper to lead the national Uganda side against Bermuda in the four-day ICC Intercontinental Shield match
In the absence of experienced players like Kenneth Kamyuka, Joel Olweny, Nehal Bibodi and replaced captain Junior Kwebiha for the ten-day tour of Bermuda, coach Ebrahim Mohammed selected Akbar to lead the side for being the most experienced player at age 35.
"Akbar has played a lot of cricket," said Mohammed in an interview with New Vision. "He is very experienced and has captained a side in India before. He has been playing longer than anyone else (in the team), so he knows the game."
Davis Arinaitwe will be the vice captain of the squad for the four-day match that begins on Monday, 17 August.
