New Zealand all-rounder Nicola Browne has revealed her excitement after being nominated for the LG ICC Women's Player of the Year Award.

England duo Charlotte Edwards and Claire Taylor and Lisa Sthalaker of Australia have also been nominated.

"It's genuinely exciting to be involved in the awards," said the State Northern Spirit player.

"It is a pay-off for the all the hard work over the years, but obviously it wouldn't have been possible without the rest of my team-mates and coaches.

"It is a great achievement, and it is something I want to share with them."

She was nominated to the shortlist after appearing in 15 ODIs for the White Ferns in 2007/08, striking 413 runs at 37.55, and taking seven wickets.

In that time, New Zealand completed an away series win in England, and enjoyed Twenty20 success over the world champion Australia.

Browne will look to emulate previous winners of the award, Karen Rolton of Australia (2006) and Jhulan Goswami of India (2007).
