John Mooney's brilliant 86 off 73 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes helped Ireland register a 26-run win over Namibia in the first 50-over league match on Monday at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Stormont, Belfast
After opting to bat first, Ireland was bowled out for 241 in 49.5 overs. Niall O'Brien's 57 off 89 balls with three boundaries revived the innings after a collapse left the hosts at 107 for 6.
Later Mooney rallied the lower order to help Ireland post a competitive target.For Namibia, Louis van der Westhuizen (2-50), Stephen Baard (2-27), Gerrie Snyma (2-49)n, Christi Viljoen (3-38) shared the wickets around.
In its reply, only Snyman with a 100 ball-60 with two boundaries offered any resistance. van der Westhuizen (22) and Nicholaas Scholtz (36) were the only other key contributors.
For Ireland, Boyd Rankin (2-28), Trent Johnston (2-48), Alex Cusack (3-29) and George Dockrell (2-42) shared the wickets around.
