Bangladesh takes 3-0 series lead with big win

Anamul’s 95 lifts team to 297 for 6 before Arafat Sunny’s four-for scuttles Zimbabwe out for 124-run victory

Bangladesh takes 3-0 series lead with big win - Cricket News
Bangladesh, on the back of opener Anamul Haque’s 95, beat Zimbabwe by 124 runs in the third One-Day International in Dhaka on Wednesday (November 26) to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
Anamul and his opening partner Tamim Iqbal got Bangladesh off to a great start after Zimbabwe put them in. Their stand of 121 runs was their second century partnership in as many matches, only broken when Tamim was run out for 40. Anamul’s 120-ball innings included nine fours.
Shakib Al Hasan (40 off 33 balls) and Mushfiqur Rahim (33 off 22 balls) continued to take on the hapless Zimbabwe bowling, adding 72 runs for the fourth wicket in just eight overs. Then it was the turn of Mahmudullah (33 not out off 26 balls) and Sabbir Rahman (22 off 13 balls) to regale the crowd with their cameo.
Bangladesh’s last ten overs yielded 103 runs, allowing it to post a formidable 297 for 6. That total looked insurmountable early into the Zimbabwe chase when it was at 22 for 2.

Mashrafe Mortaza did the early damage in his opening spell. He would finish with two wickets, going for 24 runs. Arafat Sunny then took over, ending with 4 for 27, his second four-wicket haul in as many matches.
Other than Elton Chigumbura, the captain, who scored a half-century and remained unbeaten, none of the Zimbabwe batsmen could put up a fight. Brendan Taylor was the only other batsman who crossed 20, as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 173 runs in 39.5 overs.
Bangladesh had won the first two ODIs in Chittagong by 87 runs and 68 runs respectively. The last two matches of the series will be at the same ground on November 28 and December 1.
