New Zealand physiotherapist Paul Close says the scan showed Milne has torn an abdominal muscle
Canterbury paceman Hamish Bennett will replace the injured Adam Milne in the New Zealand squad for the remainder of the One Day International Series.
Milne, who had to leave the field during Sunday’s victory in Napier, had an MRI in Hamilton yesterday.
New Zealand physiotherapist Paul Close says the scan showed Milne has torn an abdominal muscle and will need a rehabilitation period of around six weeks.
He said Milne would see a specialist in Auckland today for further assessment.
Bennett joined the New Zealand squad at training in Hamilton this afternoon. The 26-year-old last played a ODI for his country in March 2011 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai.
