On declaration, Namibia ended on a commanding 303 run lead over Hong Kong
Namibia’s national team is in a good position going into the fourth and final day of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Intercontinental Cup against Hong Kong.
 
The hosts managed to make quick work of the Hong Kong batsmen this morning, taking the last wicket off the third ball of the day at the Wanderers fields in the capital. This left Namibia in a very commanding position, with a 69 run first innings lead.
 
Namibia then took full advantage of this lead, ending on 234/5 declared. The innings was built on a strong yet patient innings of 107 not out off 269 balls and was well supported by Raymond von Schoor who scored a solid 42 off 102 balls.
 
Captain Nikolaas Scholtz then came in and smashed a quick fire 29 off 28 balls not out including three 4’s and two 6’s.
 
On the declaration Namibia ended on a commanding 303 run lead leaving Hong Kong 304 runs to win.
 
Currently Hong Kong stand on 3/0 after 2 overs.
 
The Intercontinental Cup is the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) four-day, first- class competition for the leading Associate and Affiliate Members (AMs).
