The England Under-19 team will be making its tenth World Cup appearance in the 2014 edition. England has won the World Cup once, beating New Zealand in the 1998 final by seven wickets.

England hosted the U-19 Tri-nation tournament against Bangladesh and Pakistan in August, 2013, in which it managed two victories in seven matches. Ben Duckett led the side that lost to Pakistan U-19 by 192 runs in the final match at Nottingham.

It is now participating in the Tri-nation U-19 tournament in United Arab Emirates against Pakistan and Nepal as part of its preparation for the 2014 World Cup campaign.
