The Sri Lanka Under-19 team will be making its tenth World Cup appearance in the 2014 edition.

Sri Lanka had its best result in the event in 2000, when it finished runner-up to India in the tournament held at home.

It recently hosted India U-19 in the three-match youth one-day Series. With rain disrupting the first match, the Sri Lanka lost the two remaining games by 22 runs and seven wickets. Sri Lanka will host Australia for three one-dayers in February 2014 in Colombo.
