The ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 has approved Cameron Sloman as a replacement player for Scott Cameron, who is suffering from a back strain, in Scotland’s squad for the tournament, which starts on 27 January.

Any injury or illness-based replacement requires a written submission to the Event Technical Committee along with a diagnosis from a medical practitioner as to the extent of the injury or illness. Once replaced, a player may not return to the squad save as an approved subsequent replacement for another injured or ill player.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 includes ICC General Manager – Cricket, Geoff Allardice, ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley, host nominees Mahbubul Anam and Mohammed Jalal Younus, and independent nominees and former international cricketers Russel Arnold and Dominic Cork.

Scotland is in Group A along with defending champion South Africa, host Bangladesh and Namibia. Scotland opens its campaign against Namibia on 29 January in Cox’s Bazar.
