James Anderson returns to England T20I team after gap of almost three years
England fast bowler James Anderson has been drafted into the squad for the three-match Twenty20 International series against South Africa.
The 30-year-old comes in as cover for Steve Finn, who is suffering from a back injury that forced him to miss the final ODI against South Africa on Wednesday.
Anderson, who has not been named in England’s ICC World Twenty20 squad, has played 19 T20Is but has not appeared since he featured against the Proteas at Centurion in November 2009.
The first of three T20Is takes place in Durham on Saturday, followed by matches at Manchester on Monday and Birmingham on Wednesday.
