Pakistan captain lauds his team after winning the first two T20Is against Australia
Mohammad Hafeez says the victories against Australia are a good sign ahead of the ICC World Twenty20.
Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez is pleased with the way his team are shaping up ahead of the ICC World T20.
Victory in a Super Over saw Pakistan secure their T20I series against Australia with one match to spare in Dubai on Friday.
Following on the back of a more convincing win in the first meeting the Asian nation have shown their credentials leading up to the Sri Lankan showpiece.
Hafeez said: "It's a great sign as captain. I am happy in the way players are responding to me as captain. Everyone is confident and this is a great sign for the team ahead of the World Twenty20.
"As captain I feel very proud of my team and I hope from here on they will continue also in the mega event."
The 31-year-old regularly opens both the batting and bowling in the 20-over format so will be a key figure for his side when they take on New Zealand and Bangladesh in Group D.
There is one more T20I against Australia in Dubai on Monday before the nations head to the sub-continent.
Shahid Afridi remains a doubt with the hand injury sustained during the preceding one-day series against the same opposition.
