Binod Bhandari's 51 takes Nepal to comfortable seven-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea
PNG, winning the toss and batting first, posted 140 runs on the board aided by Geraint Jones's 53-ball 55, which included four sixes. Mahuru Dai scored an unbeaten 36 at No. 7 as the other batsmen failed to make any significant contribution to the total. Paras Khadka, the right-arm medium pacer for Nepal, bagged three wickets for 22 runs in his four overs.
Nepal chased down the target of 141 in 18.2 overs with Subash Khakurel, the opener, hitting 38. Binod Bhandari's unbeaten 51 off 23 balls along with Khadka's 19-ball 26 then took Nepal to a comfortable victory. Charles Amini and Chris Amini took one wicket each for PNG.
This was Nepal’s third win of the tournament, while PNG has won two matches to date thus far.
