ECB announces schedule for 2014 Sri Lanka tour - Cricket News
England will look to repeat its triumphant home campaign against Sri Lanka in 2011.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announced the international dates and venues for Sri Lanka’s tour of England next summer.

Sri Lanka will begin its tour in mid-May with a T20 International against the hosts at The Oval ahead of a five-match series of One Day Internationals at The Oval, ICG Durham, Old Trafford, Lord’s and Edgbaston.

The tourists, who will be touring England for the first time since 2011, will then play a two match Test series with the 1st Test Match due to be staged at Lord’s and the 2nd Test Match at Headingley – both in June.

England will be seeking to repeat its triumph of two years ago when it defeated Sri Lanka (1-0) in a three-match Test series and narrowly won the five-match ODI Series (3-2). The tourists, however, emerged victorious in the two-match T20 International Series (1-0).

ECB Chief Executive David Collier said: “We look forward to welcoming Sri Lanka again to this country and anticipate that they will provide strong opposition for England in all formats of the game in what promises to be another hugely exciting programme of international cricket next summer with Sri Lanka and India as our touring teams.”
