Abdur Razzak and Sabbir Rahman named in 15-man team to be led by Mushfiqur Rahim
Razzak, who has 39 wickets from 28 matches in Twenty20 Internationals, had missed the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury. Sabbir, who has six half-centuries in domestic T20 cricket, was picked for the event after making 26 on his Twenty20 debut in Chittagong on Friday.
Chief Selector Faruque Ahmed said the squad led by Mushfiqur Rahim was a blend of experience and youth.
Bangladesh, ranked 10th in the world, have been drawn with Afghanistan, Nepal and Hong Kong in Group A of the preliminary round of qualifying matches. The other group of qualifiers comprises Zimbabwe, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Netherlands. The top team from each group advances to the main tournament.
