The 32nd match of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015 between Oman and United Arab Emirates was abandoned without a ball bowled on Friday (July 17).

A wet outfield at New Williamfield in Stirling delayed the start of proceedings. However, the heavy overnight rain meant there was no play possible on the ground.

UAE finishes its tournament with just a solitary win, against Canada. It finishes its campaign with three points from six matches.

Oman, on the other hand, had been riding a wave of momentum, having picked up three back-to-back wins against Canada, Netherlands, and Afghanistan.

The point earned from the washout has catapulted Oman to the top of the Group B table, with seven points from five matches, with a match in hand.

Afghanistan and Kenya also have seven points from five matches, but Oman is ahead on the basis of net run-rate.

Oman’s final league match is against Scotland at Edinburgh on Saturday.
