History of cricket
Morocco's entry into international cricket has been a stop-start affair since becoming an Affiliate Member of the ICC in 1999. Cricket was first introduced to the country in 1991, before the Royal Moroccan Cricket Federation joined the ICC
International cricket and developing the game
Their first tournament participation came in 2006 when it finished in fifth place - out of the eight - in the Pepsi ICC Africa World Cricket League Division 3.
Its facilities were deemed suitable to host a three-team tournament involving three major Test playing nations in 2002 - Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka - in Tangier.
