History of cricket
Ghana became an Affiliate Member of the ICC in 2002 and the game has grown there ever since.
International cricket and developing the game
Its first international participation came in 2006 when it competed in Division 3 of the ICC Africa World Cricket League. Its third-place finish was hugely encouraging and it followed that up by winning the following event in 2008 in South Africa to gain promotion to Division 2.
The Ghana Cricket Association is committed to promoting the sport in Ghana, with educational institutions like the University of Ghana, Ghana International School and Achimota School having now taken up the sport
