Digital Rights Partners

The ICC carved out rights to license in-match digital clips to third parties from the main broadcast agreement with Star Sports.

As such, for the first time in 2016, ICC licensed near-live clips for online and mobile to various broadcasters, aggregators and mobile technology companies for all ICC major events 2016-2023. These licenses ensured that the reach of ICC events remained strong despite shift of consumption from linear to digital, from long form to short form; it also provided greater reach for ICC events and cricket in general.

Now, ICC’s portfolio of Digital Clip Licensees include: BBC (United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland), ESPN (United Kingdom and Australia), Hotstar (India), Stellar Digital Limited (ASEAN & Bangladesh), Global Sports Commerce PTE Ltd. (ASEAN and Australia), Channel 2 Group (Sub-Saharan Africa and ASEAN), OSN (MENA), Khaleef Technologies (Pakistan), Dialog (Sri Lanka), Times Internet (USA & Canada).
