Biography

Born in Cantaro, Santa Cruz, Trinidad, Brian Lara remains an iconic figure in world cricket. Considered one of the all-time greats, he still holds the record of highest individual score in an innings in Tests – 400 not out against England in Antigua in 2004. He also holds the record of the highest individual score in a first-class match, 501 not out against Warwickshire in 1994.

Currently fifth in the overall run-scorers’ list in Tests, he also held the record of most runs in Tests for quite some time. In his long career of 131 Tests, he scored 11,953 runs including 34 centuries at an average of 52.88. He also accumulated 10,405 runs in 299 ODIs.
