Player of the Tournament in England's triumphant campaign at the 2009 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, Claire Taylor wil go down as one of England Women's greatest ever batters. In Tests, she scored 1,030 runs, while in ODIs, she hit 4,101 runs.
She started her career as a wicket-keeper batter in the late 1990s, but later became one of England Women’s premier batter across formats. As a youngster, Claire Taylor played hockey and cricket, and even represented her country in the former at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels. But it was in cricket that she made a massive mark, scoring 1030 runs in 15 Tests, 4101 runs in 126 one-day internationals, and 615 runs in 27 Twenty20 Internationals. Taylor’s greatest moment as a batter was perhaps the 156* she made against India Women at Lord’s in an ODI in 2006.
