The Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship game between Ireland and Afghanistan was abandoned on Wednesday without a ball being bowled.

The match, which had been scheduled to have been played on Tuesday, also saw rain fall throughout Wednesday.

Ireland have now extended its lead at the top of the table, while Afghanistan have moved into fourth place.

The sides are scheduled to play their second game in the series on Thursday.
