Abdallah confident of securing promotion for Tanzania

Tanzania skipper Hamisi Abdallah believes his side is favourites to get promoted from the ICC Africa Division 2 event.

When asked who he thought would win the event, which is part of the qualification for the ICC World Twenty20 2012, the captain backed his side's experience.

"Of course Tanzania, as we are currently playing in the ICC World Cricket League Div 4, and we have Botswana and Nigeria playing in Div 7, but T20 can be anybody's game. On a bad day any team could lose to the weakest team and that is what T20 is all about," said Abdallah.

Abdallah also revealed that his side's preparations for the event have been far from ideal.

"Well the preparations have not been so good due to going heavy rains. We have been unable to train in both batting and bowling, which are main departments of the game," he said.

"We have been training on our endurance and fielding and players will have to use their experience for the event."
