Cricket Fiji's Elite Player League starts on Saturday with defending champions Suva Capitals taking on the Sigatoka Dunes at Albert Park 2. In the second game Western Bulldogs play the Lau Voyagers at Albert Park 1.

Suva Capitals to be led by former Fiji Under-19 skipper Viliame Yabaki has an experienced pace attack led by Fiji Blues spearhead Sakaraia Lomani. Capitals batting line-up will revolve around Mosese Ravula and Rukesh Patel, who will be making their EPL debuts this weekend.

Capital's opponents, the Sigatoka Dunes, will be led by experienced off-spinner Iniasi Cakacaka, who can also bat adequately. For middle-order batsman Eric Browne the tournament is an excellent opportunity to stake a claim for a national recall. Also in the mix is young paceman Tukana Tavo who has impressed with his pace and bounce.

In the other game, Bulldogs will be captained by Fiji skipper Joe Rika. All-rounders Kiti Tavo and Tauyesa Vakarau form the explosive lower-order hitters of the Bulldogs line-up. Tavo returns to Cricket Fiji's elite programme after almost two years and will be looking to show that he is still a force to be reckoned at this level.

The Voyagers, too will be determined to get off to a good start in their first year in the competition and will be looking to their experienced captain, Joe Dabea, to lead a team with an exciting mix of youth and experience. The team includes two young batsmen of similar styles in Sekove Ravoka and the promising 16-year-old Ebrahim Cassim.
