Jade Dernbach signs with Melbourne Stars for T20 Big Bash League

The ECB today announced that England and Surrey bowler Jade Dernbach will join Australian Twenty20 Big Bash League side Melbourne Stars for the forthcoming competition starting next month.

Dernbach will join the Stars for the Big Bash League that starts on December 16 and concludes with the final on January 28. He will, however, be released for international duty if selected for England during that period.

Jade Dernbach said: "I jumped at the opportunity to join the Stars for the 2011/12 Big Bash. With the BBL being revamped this year everyone is looking at the tournament with great anticipation and I'm delighted to be taking part. With the recently announced signing of Shane Warne plus the likes of White, Hussey and Siddle in the squad, I know we are going to be the team to watch in this competition."
