The batter hit the fastest-ever T20I century for India, and third-fastest overall, racing to his hundred in the ninth over of the innings off merely 30 balls.
His first 50 runs took merely 16 balls, making it the joint fourth-fastest fifty for India. Abhishek already has the record for the second-fastest fifty for India, a half-century against New Zealand in January this year, which came off just 14 balls.
Abhishek Sharma’s breathtaking knock was brought to an end at 108 by Rashid Khan, just one ball before the halfway mark of the innings.
