Star batter Mandhana sets historic milestone in Women's T20Is
Opener Smriti Mandhana surpassed New Zealand veteran Suzie Bates to claim top spot in the Women's T20Is run charts.
India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana etched her name into the history books as she became the leading run-scorer in Women's T20Is, surpassing White Ferns legend Suzie Bates.
She achieved the record during the ongoing Women's Asian Games semi-final match against Bangladesh where she was dismissed for 37 off 19 deliveries.
Apart from this milestone, Mandhana is also the all-time leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket, a landmark she achieved during the 2026 Asia Cup game against Hong Kong, China.
Having made her debut in 2013, Mandhana has evolved into one of world cricket's most formidable batters, with this record-breaking milestone being a testament to her remarkable consistency. She is placed fifth in the ICC Women's T20I batter rankings and tops the ICC Women's ODI batting charts.

Mandhana also scored her maiden T20I century last year against England, becoming the first Indian batter to score a century across all formats in women’s cricket.
The 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup champion now has 10,950 runs, which includes 4751 T20I runs and 5411 ODI runs, consisting of 14 ODI and two T20I tons.
