Trio missing as Aussies name squads for Pakistan, Bangladesh
Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood to miss the Asian tour as Australia name new-look squads to tackle Pakistan and Bangladesh away from home.
A trio of fast bowlers are notable omissions as Australia revealed their white-ball squads for upcoming tour of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Experienced quicks Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood will all sit out the tour that commences later this month, with the Aussies calling up the captain of their recent ICC Men's Under 19 Cricket World Cup campaign in Ollie Peake and uncapped all-rounder Liam Scott for the three matches against Pakistan that commence on May 30.

Young batter Joel Davies also earns a call-up for the T20Is against Bangladesh in June as the Aussies look to bounce back from their disappointing campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the start of the year, with pace duo Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake among the players winning a recall for the Pakistan leg of the tour.
Selection Chair George Bailey believes the absence of some key players will provide opportunities to the next back of Australian stars.
“It’s always exciting to see new players get an opportunity to play international cricket and be a part of the national team," Bailey said.
“The blend of experienced players coupled with new or returning players will provide a nice mix for these sub-continent tours.
“Continuing to provide opportunities for players to develop across a broad range of conditions and experiences is important and will continue to be a focus over the next 18 months to two years across the calendar and with future campaigns in mind.”

Mitchell Marsh will captain the Aussies in all white-ball fixtures against Pakistan and Bangladesh as the build up continues to next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, while there is no room for veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in the T20I squad as Davies wins his first call-up at international level.
Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood are expected to use the time to prepare for a busy upcoming schedule in Australia's ICC World Test Championship campaign that re-commences in August.

Bailey suggested there would be some tough decisions to make in the future about when best to rest Australia's fast bowlers, but said the upcoming World Test Championship campaign and next year's 50-over World Cup were among the main priorities for his side.
"Yeah, it'll be a balance," Bailey admitted.
"Potentially, in the lead up to those South African Tests (in October) there's some one-dayers in Zimbabwe and South Africa, that might be a nice lead in both to sort of continue to build some match intensity and some loads up through some white ball cricket there.
"But, not just Pat, but all those fast bowlers, the end goal is for all of them to hopefully be available and performing well coming at 50-over World Cup.
"But respecting that the body of work that they also do across Test cricket is a balance and just making sure that they're available and able to do that first and foremost.
"And then I think one day cricket fits in and around that. And clearly, as you do get closer to the World Cup, hopefully there's some opportunities where they can start to play a little bit more and you can build a little bit that team cohesion."
