Miller aiming high with Proteas at home Cricket World Cup
David Miller would love nothing more than claiming his first ICC trophy on home soil at next year's 50-over World Cup.
South Africa batter David Miller has revealed his main goal is helping the Proteas win their first ICC Men's Cricket World Cup on home soil next year.
Miller has been a mainstay in the Proteas' white-ball setup for the best part of 16 years, but it yet to taste success at a major ICC event having come agonizingly close recently when the side finished as the runners up at the 2024 edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup behind India.

But with South Africa still on a high from their maiden victory in the ICC World Test Championship last year, Miller believes there is every chance the side can come out on top when they co-host the 50-over World Cup alongside Zimbabwe and Namibia in 2027.
"I am really looking forward to it (2027 World Cup). For me, it's a goal that I want to achieve. I would love to finish off late in my career with a trophy," Miller told JioStar.
"So, for me, it's a goal that I would love to be a part of that World Cup team."
CWC27 venues and brand unveiled in a star-studded ceremony
A momentous ceremony in Johannesburg saw the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 venues and brand announced.
Next year's World Cup will be the first time that South Africa have hosted a senior men's ICC event since Miller made his international debut in 2010 and the first time the country has co-hosted the 50-over World Cup since Australia claimed their third title way back in 2003.
While perhaps more well renowned for his heroics in the shortest format now in the latter stages of his career, Miller knows he still has to earn a place in the Proteas' 50-over setup despite having featured at the three most recent editions of the tournament in 2015, 2019 and 2023.
"It's something that is never guaranteed, and I'll definitely, from now until then, be focused on aiming to make that team and to contribute the best I can," Miller said.
"Obviously, it will be very special, being at home in front of our fans, and in a place that I've played for so many years. So, it would be fantastic to be a part of that team."

David Miller hit 13 boundaries during his 101
Miller has two World Cup centuries to his name, with the left-hander having reached triple figures against Zimbabwe in Hamilton in 2015 and then again in 2023 when he smashed a superb century opposed to eventual champions Australia at Eden Gardens.
Having made more than 300 appearances for South Africa at international level, Miller said it was his ability to close out games that stands out from the rest of his achievements.
"Probably the fact that I've made a career by batting in the middle order and finishing games, that would be something I'm most proud of," Miller added.
"It's something that takes a long time to kind of conquer and master.
"I'm still learning all the time, but at least I've had a long career in that department, and I've really enjoyed going about chasing innings, especially."
