Back-to-back triumphs helps Nepal stars make rankings gains

A boost for a group of Nepal players as Scotland's in-form all-rounder reaches a new career-high rating.

Consecutive victories in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 competition has seen a group of Nepal stars make eye-catching improvement on the latest ICC Men's ODI Player Rankings.

Nepal have registered back-to-back wins over the USA and Scotland across the last week in League 2 action on the road to next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, with a host of their bowlers leading the way.

It was experienced all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee that dominated with a four-wicket haul against the USA and the 26-year-old was rewarded by gaining three spots to move to 79th overall on the list for ODI bowlers.

Teammates Sandeep Lamichhane (up six rungs to equal 36th) and Lalit Rajbanshi (up 16 places to equal 53rd) also make ground on the latest rankings for ODI bowlers, while Airee makes gains (up three spots to equal 25th) on the updated list for ODI all-rounders.

Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai leads the way as the No.1 ranked all-rounder in ODI cricket, but in-form Scotland star Brandon McMullen is on the move after he moved up two places to sixth overall with a new career-best rating following an impressive innings of 73 against Nepal.

That knock also helped McMullen gain six spots to move to 53rd on the updated rankings for ODI batters, with Nepal duo Saiteja Mukkamalla (up five rungs to 61st) and Aasif Sheikh (up seven slots to equal 86th) making ground on this list too following some good efforts with the bat across the last week.
