The Netherlands have named a strong squad for next month's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series against hosts Canada and the USA.

The bulk of the players that featured for the side at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup earlier this year have been retained in the 15-member group, with skipper Scott Edwards to once again lead the team in his role as captain.

Scott Edwards was as quick as a flash behind the stumps to leave Louren Steenkamp stranded and deliver the Netherlands the opening wicket against Namibia at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

Star all-rounder Bas de Leede and hard-hitting opener Max O'Dowd are also named alongside veteran spinner Roelof Van Der Merwe, while Sebastian Braat earns a recall and is in contention to play his first international match since 2021.

Braat has been one of the leading performers in the Netherlands domestic Topklasse competition this season and head coach Ryan Cook is excited to see what the all-rounder can deliver.

“There have been some very encouraging performances in the Topklasse season so far and this is a great opportunity for this squad to showcase the improvements and skills which have developed since the previous WCL (League 2) tournament," he said.

"It’s exciting to introduce some hard working talent into the group and build off the experience from those involved in the T20 World Cup earlier this year.”

Bas de Leede was the most successful Dutch bowler in the history of Cricket World Cup.

The Netherlands currently sit in fourth place on the League 2 standings, with the top four sides at the completion of the event progressing to the Qualifier tournament for next year's 50-over ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

All matches at the upcoming tri-series will be held at Maple Leaf CC King City in Ontario, with the Netherlands first contest coming against USA on June 8.
