Record win boosts USA in Cricket World Cup League 2
The United States of America (USA) are hosts of a tri-series featuring Canada and Oman that is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27.
In another sensational Cricket World Cup League 2 performance, USA secured their biggest win in ODI cricket by beating neighbouring rivals Canada by 169 runs in Lauderhill.
Batting first, the hosts posted their highest-ever ODI total, 361/3 in the first innings, before skittling Canada out for merely 192.
This win continues USA’s successful run in the Cricket World Cup League 2 in 2025, wherein they have won four games out of their five appearances thus far. This also included a record bowling performance against Oman, wherein the Americans defended a score of 122 - the lowest successfully defended total in men's ODIs.
The win against Canada keeps USA in second place in the Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27 standings, with 24 points from 17 games, and they have a good chance to overtake the Netherlands (26 points from 20 games) and secure the top spot.

USA recorded a large win over Canada
Despite losing prolific opener Andries Gous early to Kaleem Sana after electing to bat first, USA got off to a positive start on the back of exquisite strokeplay from opener Smit Patel and skipper Monank Patel.
The USA ensured that the run rate figured between five and six as they reached the mid-innings mark. The loss of Saiteja Mukkamalla was followed by star batter Milind Kumar arriving in the middle.

Along with Smit, Milind put on a batting masterclass that helped the USA score 208 runs off 125 deliveries. Smit hit his maiden ODI century, an unbeaten 152 that included 12 fours and four sixes, whereas Milind scored a 115* from merely 67 balls, hitting 17 boundaries including five sixes.
The stand between Smit and Milind was the second-best ODI partnership for USA Men's team. Smit's batting effort was the third-best individual score by a USA batter in ODIs, behind Jaskaran Malhotra (173* v PNG, 2021) and Milind Kumar (155* v UAE, 2024).
Canada’s chase in pursuit of the mammoth ask of 362 never got going, with Mansab Gill’s counterattacking 54* in the lower order being the standout performance. Sanjay Krishnamurthi (3/10), Noshtush Kenjige (2/41) and Harmeet Singh (2/38) were the pick of the bowlers for USA, while Milind Kumar also struck twice with the ball.
