Early wickets rock UAE

Canada pacers Jeremy Gordon and Henry Osinde impress as UAE stumble after a rain-delayed start

Early wickets rock UAE - Cricket News
Canada restricted UAE to 73 for 4 on Day 2 of their Intercontinental Cup clash.
After the first day of the Intercontinental Cup clash between Canada and UAE was washed out, a wet outfield forced a delayed start on Friday (August 2).

UAE, put in to bat, scored 73 for the loss of four wickets in the 28.1 overs they faced on day two of the four-day match at the Maple Leaf North-West Ground in King City.

The openers Haroon Iftikhar and Arshad Ali fell early to pacers Jeremy Gordon and Henry Osinde respectively. Khurram Khan, the UAE captain, and Swapnil Patil then steadied the innings with a third-wicket partnership of 37 runs, but Gordon struck once again to dismiss Khan for 21 runs.

Shaiman Anwar then fell to Parth Desai, the left-arm bowler, without troubling the scorers. Less than four overs later, play was called off due to bad light with Patil (43) and Rohan Mustafa (3) at the crease.

The pick of the Canada bowlers was Jeremy Gordon who picked up 2 for 25 runs in 8.1 overs.
