Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed on Friday, September 18, that the women’s national team will host West Indies for a three-match ODI series as part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

This will be followed by a T20I series consisting of as many games. The series will mark the first time the two teams square off against each other in a bilateral series, across formats.

While the ODI series will be played at the Harare Sports Club starting September 24 to 30, the T20Is will be contested between October 3 to 7 at the Takashinga Cricket Club.

The multi-format series adds to a packed calendar year of cricket for Zimbabwe, following their Women’s Championship visits to New Zealand and Pakistan, and the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa.

Zimbabwe are currently 10th in the Women’s Championship Standings, with six defeats from as many outings in the current cycle.

West Indies on the other hand are fifth, with four wins from the nine matches they have played so far.  The visitors will arrive into the series on the back of a 3-0 sweep against Ireland.
