Pakistan Women beat Ireland Women by 21 runs to register second win.
Pakistan Women beat Ireland Women by 21 runs in the fourth match of the PCB Qatar Women's 20-over Tri-Series at West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Monday (January 20). Nain Abidi was named the Player of the Match for her 58-ball 56.

Pakistan batted first, and Abidi and Sidra Ameen added 41 for the second wicket and set the platform for Pakistan to post 132 for 5 in 20 overs. Barring knocks from Isobel Joyce and Elena Tice, none of the Pakistan batters got going and eventually ended its 20 overs at 111 for 5.

Pakistan lost opener Javeria Khan (12) in the fifth over, following which, Abidi and Ameen stitched a 50-ball 41-run stand for the second wicket. Lucy O'Reilly went past Ameen’s defence to hand Ireland its second wicket. Captain Sana Mir and Abidi held the innings together and shared a quickfire 32-run stand off 21 balls to put Pakistan on course to post a competitive total. Abidi was run out for 56, but not before she saw the innings through.

Chasing at a required run rate of 6.65, Ireland lost openers Clare Shillington and Jennifer Gray within the first seven balls. Emma Flannagan then followed after being bowled by Qanita Jalil, leaving Ireland struggling at 16 for 3. This brought Isobel Joyce and Elena Tice together, who put together 46 runs for the fourth wicket to take Ireland closer to their target.

Joyce was dismissed for a 35-ball 36 in the 13th over with Ireland still needing 71 off 47 to win. Tice remained unbeaten on 44 off 48 as Ireland ended its innings on 111 for 5 after 20 overs, falling short by 21 and handing Pakistan its second win in the tri-series.

Dar and Jalil ended with two wickets apiece.

Pakistan will now play South Africa at Doha on Wednesday.
