South Africa women's head coach departs ahead of T20 World Cup

Cricket South Africa (CSA) have confirmed the departure of Hilton Moreeng as the Proteas Women's head coach.

Hilton Moreeng leaves the position after his contract concludes at the end of the 2023/24 season, having served as the head coach for over 11 years. Moreeng departs ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled in Bangladesh in October.

Assistant coach Dillon du Preez will take over the reins in the interim before a new head coach is appointed.

During his tenure, Moreeng closely oversaw the evolution of the South African women’s national team into a fledgeling professional set-up, taking charge of 279 matches across all three formats.
