Veteran to lead England following Sciver-Brunt injury
England's regular skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the third T20I against India at The Oval due to a left groin injury.
England women's captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the third game of the five-match T20I series against India, after sustaining an injury to her left groin. The third game will be played on Friday, 4 July.
The 32-year-old will not feature in Friday's clash, with the results of a recent scan set to determine her availability for the remainder of the series.
The fourth T20I is scheduled for Wednesday, 9 July in Manchester, while the fifth is slotted for Saturday, 2 July in Birmingham.
Experienced batter Tammy Beaumont will take over captaincy duties in Sciver-Brunt’s absence for the match at The Oval.
Despite being 2-0 in the five-match series, Beaumont believes there is still time for England to find their best form and still claim a series victory on home soil.
"The worst thing we could do right now is panic," Beaumont said.
"Obviously, it's not the circumstances we wanted to be in. We didn't want to be 2-0 down, and we didn't want our captain and best batter to be out of the team. But we're here where we are, and that's what we've got to do.
"We've got to try and bring some calm to it, and some rationale, some logic. We certainly believe we can come back and win this. Full credit to India. They've challenged us. They've pushed us so far, but I hope that we can respond, and I'm certainly intending on getting the girls to try and respond to what's happened so far."

With 246 international games to her name, Beaumont brings a wealth of experience to the England side, who are 2-0 down in the series currently.
As a cover for Sciver-Brunt's absence, top-order batter Maia Bouchier has been added to the squad for the third T20I.
Known for her aggressive stroke play, Bouchier provides England with a reliable replacement option as they look to turn their fortunes around at home.
Sciver-Brunt had registered scores of 66 and 13 in the first two games of the series, with India coming out on top comfortably in both the games so far.
