Marsh on stand-by as Australia sweat on Stoinis injury
Australia have a tricky outing against Pakistan on Wednesday, 12 June, and they could be without Stoinis for that match.
However, Australia will wait on his fitness before deciding whether to replace him permanently in the 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, given ICC regulations don’t permit a player to re-join a squad once they are left out.
Nissan POTD: Stoinis' super-quick return catch
Stoinis returned 2/62 against India, including a superb return catch to dismiss MS Dhoni. He also claimed the prized scalp of Virat Kohli, albeit late in the day when the damage had been done, as India posted a huge 352/5.
Marsh was due to travel to the UK later this week in any case, to join up with the Australia A squad for clashes against county teams.
Australia have played three matches so far at the World Cup – they beat Afghanistan and West Indies in their first two matches.
