A comprehensive 206-run win over Zimbabwe ensured that Pakistan continued their unbeaten run against the African side at home. This gives them a 2-0 series advantage over Zimbabwe.

The ongoing series is a part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29.

This was Pakistan’s biggest-ever win in a women’s ODI. Their previous best came in 2011 against Netherlands at Fatullah, when the side had won by 193 runs.

In a crucial content ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan gained significant confidence with the bat after electing to bat first in the second ODI of the series at Karachi.

Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas took the attack to the opposition from the start and stitched a stand of 189 runs within the first 31 overs. Both the batters managed to secure their maiden ODI hundreds, with Feroza also smashing the fastest-ever ton for a Pakistan batter, getting to her landmark century in merely 93 balls. The previous best effort was by Sidra Amin (97 balls) against South Africa last year.

Zimbabwe managed to dismiss the openers eventually, but handy cameos from Sidra (59* off 58), Fatima Sana (25 off 13) and Aliya Riaz (27 off 14) guided Pakistan to a strong total of 343/4.

This was Pakistan’s highest-ever score at home, and also proved to be their highest score in a win.

Zimbabwe faced early losses in their massive chase, and despite resistance from Kelis Ndhlovu (32), Beloved Biza (29) and Runyararo Pasipanodya (33*), the side were skittled out for 137 runs.

Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana led the way with her 3/15, and got able support from Syeda Aroob Shah (2/18), Rameen Shamim (2/20), and Momina Riasat (2/39).

The final ODI of the series, which will also be a day-night encounter in Karachi, will be played on 9 May.
