Proteas name squads for Pakistan white-ball series at home
South Africa Women prepare for an important Women's T20 World Cup 2026 and the new ICC Women’s Championship cycle on the horizon.
South Africa, who finished runners-up at the recent ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, have named their T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming limited-overs series against Pakistan from 10 February to 1 March.
ICC no. 1 ranked Women's ODI batter Laura Wolvaardt will continue to lead the side following two impressive centuries against Ireland in the ODI series, prior to which she smashed her second T20I ton against the same opponent.

The three-match T20I series, part of the Proteas Women’s build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England & Wales, will see .
20-year-old Kayla Reyneke earns her maiden national team call-up, joining the T20I squad alongside experienced all-rounders Chloé Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, and Marizanne Kapp, who return following their Women’s Premier League stints. Squad regulars Dané van Niekerk, Suné Luus, Ayabonga Khaka, and Masabata Klaas have also been included.
Sinalo Jafta and Karabo Meso are the designated wicketkeeper-batters, with spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba and all-rounder Annerie Dercksen also named in the squad. Tazmin Brits and Ayanda Hlubi return to the fold after missing the Ireland series.
Lara Goodall, Faye Tunnicliffe, Nondumiso Shangase, and Tumi Sekhukhune come into the 50-over squad, replacing Khaka, Klaas, Reyneke, and van Niekerk.
The ODI series will mark the start of South Africa’s ICC Women’s Championship cycle, which serves as the qualification pathway to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2029.
