Faisal Khan produced a historic innings at the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, registering the highest individual score by an Afghanistan batter in the tournament’s history with a commanding 163 against Ireland in the Super Six stage at Harare.

He went past Karim Janat's score of 156 that stood as Afghanistan's highest individual score in U-19 World Cup history since 2016 as he became just the second Afghanistan batter to goy beyond 150 in the tournament history.

Batting with composure and control, Khan anchored the Afghanistan innings with a fluent 163 off 142 deliveries, striking 18 fours and a six at a strike rate of 114.78.

He found able support from middle-order batter Mahboob Khan (89), with the pair adding a solid 188-run partnership for the fourth wicket, ensuring Afghanistan maintained momentum through the middle overs.

With the Super Six stage intensifying, Khan’s record-setting effort has set the stage for a competitive fixture as Ireland look to respond with the ball.
