Malajczuk rewrites U19 World Cup record with blazing ton

The Australia opener delivered a breathtaking performance against Japan in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, smashing the fastest century in the tournament's history.

Australia left-hand batter Will Malajczuk reached his century at the 13.5-over mark, racing to the landmark in just 51 deliveries, slamming the fastest-ever ton in ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup history.

Malajcuk was eventually dismissed on 102 off 55 in a blistering display of power hitting in the chase of 202 against Japan.

His aggressive innings put the defending champions firmly in control after in the Group A clash at Namibia Cricket Ground.

Malajczuk’s stellar knock included a flurry of 12 boundaries and five towering sixes, as he capitalised on scoring opportunities from the get-go at a strike rate of 185.45.

Partnering with Nitesh Samuel at the top, the pair laid an unassailable foundation, cutting through Japan’s bowling attack with bold intent as they racked up 135 runs in just 15.3 overs before Malajczuk fell after trying to take the aerial route once again.

Earlier in the game, Japan posted 201/8, following a knock of resilience from Hugo Tani-Kelly, who made an unbeaten 79 off 135.
