West Indies name squad for U19 World Cup 2026
Joshua Dorne leads the West Indies in their quest to win the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2026.
Top-order batter Joshua Dorne will lead the West Indies at the upcoming ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The tournament is slated to run from 15 January to 6 February.
Dorne already made his first-class debut last year, and his deputy will be all-rounder Jonathan van Lange. The squad includes Jewel Andrew, who also featured in the 2024 edition, and is the youngest-ever West Indies men's player to feature in T20Is and ODIs.
The 15-member squad features several players who impressed during the 2025 regional competitions and international preparatory series. These include the series against England and Sri Lanka, both of which the West Indies won.

The next generation of superstars put on a spectacle at the 2024 ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup.
Speaking about the selected squad, Dwain Gill, CWI’s High Performance Manager, elaborated on the selection process.
"This squad is the product of a deliberate and well-structured preparation and selection process. Performances in regional Under-17 and Under-19 competitions were closely monitored, with an emphasis on identifying players with specialist skills and the adaptability required for international cricket.
"In assembling this group, we have aligned their development with the style of play we expect at the senior level, ensured exposure to high-quality match opportunities and placed a strong focus on leadership, tactical awareness and individual support within their territories."
West Indies have been drawn in Group D alongside South Africa, Afghanistan, and Tanzania. All of their group matches will be played at the High-Performance Oval in Windhoek, Namibia.
