Four semi-finalists confirmed for CWC25
The latest result at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup confirms the four teams that will progress through to the knockouts.
India booked their berth in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 after a convincing win over New Zealand at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The result means that the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side have followed Australia, England and South Africa as the teams that will vie for a place in the summit clash.
Having kickstarted their tournament with successive wins over Sri Lanka and Pakistan, India were dealt with three defeats in a row from South Africa, Australia and England.
Facing New Zealand in a crucial matchup, the two-time runner-ups delivered a dominant display with bat, followed by a clinical finish with the ball to nab two points.
Following their victory over the White Ferns, India moved to six points with three wins. Both New Zealand and Bangladesh can also reach six points with wins in their final fixtures.
However, even if India lose their last match against Bangladesh, they will advance based on the number of wins – the primary tiebreaker for teams finishing level on points at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.
