India dealt injury scare ahead of CWC25 semis
Making a fielding attempt in the deep, Pratika Rawal left the field during Bangladesh’s innings after sustaining an injury.
India opener Pratika Rawal was forced off the field after she sustained an injury while fielding at the boundary during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 fixture against Bangladesh.
BCCI issued an update on Rawal's injury, "Team India all-rounder Pratika Rawal sustained an injury to her knee and ankle while fielding in the first innings against Bangladesh. The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring her progress."
The incident occurred during the 21st over Bangladesh’s innings, when Rawal, running to intercept the ball in the deep, seemed to have injured her right foot.

After being seen in discomfort as she lay holding her ankle, the India opener was immediately tended to by the team physio. Rawal was eventually helped off the field.
As India came in to bat in the second innings, Amanjot Kaur would step in to open alongside Smriti Mandhana in Rawal's stead.
Updating on her injury, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur stated after the game, "Pratika is being monitored by the medical team and hopefully they'll get back soon.
"Hopefully Pratika will also be fine for the next game (semi-final against Australia)."

Rawal has been the second-highest run-getter at the ongoing tournament, having scored 308 runs off her six innings so far.
The right-handed batter had scored her maiden Women's Cricket World Cup ton against New Zealand in India's previous fixture.
The century helped lay the foundation for India's third win, sealing their semi-finals spot. The hosts will play Australia on October 30 at Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai for a place in the summit clash.
