Skipper Alyssa Healy delivered a splendid ton as Australia bested India in a run-fest at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.

HIGHEST RUN CHASE IN WOMEN'S ODIs

Australia's successful run chase was the highest in the history of Women's ODI cricket, surpassing Sri Lanka's effort of chasing 302 against South Africa in Potchefstroom last year.

It was also easily the highest run chase at a Women's World Cup, going past Australia's effort of 278 runs against India in the 2022 edition of the tournament in Auckland.

HIGHEST ODI TOTAL BY INDIA AT WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

While India fell short from claiming the win, they will be buoyed by the fact they scored their highest total with the bat in the history of the Women's World Cup.

Their total of 330 was better than the 317/8 they managed against the West Indies in 2022.

THIRD MOST COMBINED RUNS IN WOMEN'S ODI

The 661 runs the two teams combined for was the third most in the history of Women's ODIs, only behind the 781 the same sides managed in Delhi last month and the 679 from Australia and South Africa in Bristol at the 2017 edition of the Women's World Cup.

MOST SIXES IN A WOMEN'S WORLD CUP MATCH

With so many runs scored it was almost inevitable that the record for most sixes in a Women's World Cup match also fell.

India managed seven during their innings with three coming from the bat of opener Smriti Mandhana, while Australia smashed six in reply to bring the grand total to 13 across the entire match.

THIRD HIGHEST SCORE BY A CAPTAIN AT A WORLD CUP

Alyssa Healy is well regarded for stepping up on the big stage and this was no different as she scored the third highest score by any captain at any edition of the Women's World Cup.

The only skippers to have beterred her innings of 142 as captain are fellow Australians Belinda Clark (229* against Denmark in 1997) and Meg Lanning (152* versus Sri Lanka in 2017).

A 37-YEAR DROUGHT BROKEN BY ANNABEL SUTHERLAND

Annabel Sutherland turned the game with her spell with the ball as she collected the first five-wicket haul at the tournament with superb figures of 5/40.

Sutherland is just the fourth bowler from Australia to pick up a five-wicket haul at a Women's World Cup and the first to do so since Lyn Fullston reached the feat against Netherlands in Melbourne in 1988.

NEW MARK FOR MAGICAL MANDHANA

Smriti Mandhana marked the occasion by becoming only the second Indian batter behind Mithali Raj to score 5000 Women’s ODI runs.

Breaching past the milestone in her 112th ODI at the age of 29, Mandhana became the quickest and the youngest to do so.

It wasn’t the only major milestone Mandhana crossed, as the India opener became the first batter to complete 1000 Women’s ODI runs in a calendar year.

The left-hander now boasts an incredible 1062 runs from 18 matches so far this year, which includes four centuries and as many half-centuries.
