How should you build your Dream11 team for the West Indies v Pakistan game?
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, 2020
West Indies Women v Pakistan Women
Venue: Manuka Oval, Canberra
Date: Wednesday, 26 February 2020
Time: 07:00 pm Local Time, 08:00 am GMT, 01:30 pm IST
After their nervy win against first-timers Thailand, West Indies next take on Pakistan in Wednesday's second match in Canberra. This will be Pakistan's first match of the tournament.
Pakistan have lost their last four T20 games: the World T20 warm-up game against Bangladesh and the three T20Is against England in December 2019. They last won a T20I match against Bangladesh in October 2019.
West Indies too have struggled with form. Before the win against Thailand, they last found success against Ireland back in May 2019. They will look to the brilliance of Stafanie Taylor, while Pakistan will want Javeria Khan and Bismah Maroof to be at the top of their game.
Some cloud cover is expected on Wednesday evening in Canberra. However, there is no chance of rain and we can expect the temperature to be in the early 20s.
The team winning the toss will likely bat first, as this has been historically advantageous at the Manuka Oval. A score of around 150 will be a challenging one for the team chasing.
West Indies: Hayley Matthews, Lee-Ann Kirby, Stafanie Taylor (c), Chedean Nation, Deandra Dottin, Shemaine Campbell (wk), Chinelle Henry, Shamilia Connell, Afy Fletcher, Anisa Mohammed, Aaliyah Alleyne.
Bench – Cherry Ann-Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond, Britney Cooper.
Pakistan: Javeria Khan, Ayesha Naseem, Bismah Maroof (c), Omaima Sohail, Nida Dar, Iram Javed, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz (wk), Diana Baig, Aiman Anwer, Anam Amin.
Bench – Muneeba Ali, Sadia Iqbal, Syeda Aroob Shah, Fatima Sana.
Stafanie Taylor is the first name that needs to be on your fantasy team, given her match-winning performance against Thailand that ensured there was no early upset in their campaign.
Other options from the West Indies line-up are Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbell. Matthews can get you extra points with her bowling.
Other bowling options are Anisa Mohammed and Afy Fletcher. Both of them are economical.
For Pakistan, Javaria has been in top batting form. Another option is Maroof, the Pakistan skipper, who is also handy with the ball and can be a source of extra points.
With the ball, consider Diana Baig, Aiman Anwer and Anam Amin. Nida Dar is an all-round option: reliable with both bat and ball, her consistency can get you valuable points.
